My grandfather, Jack Real taught me to play the jews harp when I was a boy. It was the only instrument he played and he played it well. I don't know who taught him. He grew up on a farm in Alabama. I taught my son to play jews harp when he was little. I borrowed a couple out of his collection and used two of my own in this recording. I improvised it in five consecutive tracks: Three jews harp tracks, a whistle track and a vocal to double the whistling. I went for a feeling and I think I got it.
